Welcome to the 2007 Season! To kick us off, here are a few tidbits before the rush of last minute info starts pouring in right here.
Reporting from the stadium in NJ, ESPN reports, as expected, RB Thomas Jones will start. And,
Randy Moss looked excellent in practice this week for New England.
As a Reminder/FYI...
The Boston Globe reports the Patriots made a few roster moves Saturday. CB Asante Samuel
was activated and is expected to play. CB Tory James and TE Marcellus Rivers were released. DL
Mike Wright, S Rashad Baker and TE David Thomas were downgraded to out on the injury report. LB
Corey Mays and DL Santonio Thomas were activated off the practice squad.
The New York Jets RB Thomas Jones (calf) was limited at practice this week but is still expected to play despite being listed as questionable. Treat him as a game time call.
Redskins RB Clinton Portis (knee tendonitis) took part in team practice this week and Portis said he’s ready to carry the load. Coach Gibbs and OC Al Sanders may have other ideas as capable backup
Ladell Betts looms.
Look for two rookies in Green Bay’s backfield today. RB Brandon Jackson (concussion) is expected to start Week #1. He was able to take reps late this week.
DeShawn Wynn is expected to back him up as Vernand Morency is very iffy and not someone to count on.
WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh was held back some this week at practice but finished work with the team on Saturday and is expected to play Monday Night barring a last minute setback.
WR Randy Moss was able to take a full practice on Friday despite being held back early in the week.
Look for WR Patrick Crayton to replace Terry Glenn in the starting lineup for Dallas.
WR Plaxico Burress has been dinged most of the preseason but he did get reps in this week and is expected to start.
WR Donald Driver is as tough as they come and he got reps in on Friday and is expected to play today against Philly.
Packers WR Greg Jennings is an iffy game time call. He’s been limited all week and not someone to count on. The door is open for rookie WR
James Jones, we’ve been talking about James all summer.
Eagles TE John L.J. Smith was downgraded to questionable on Saturday. He’s a game time call. Smith may dress, but he comes with risk. While Philly management seems to be pushing Smith to play, the truth is they have
Matt Schobel and upstart rookie TE Brent Celek ready to fill in.
